How TakeOff works
The window, the two sidebar sections, and the one rule: saving is not pushing.
TakeOff is a Mac app that reads and writes your apps’ App Store Connect records through the App Store Connect API. You work on a version in one window, your changes are saved on this Mac, and nothing reaches Apple until you push.
The window
The sidebar has two sections.
Version: what belongs to the version you are preparing.
- Store Text: the seven text fields, one language at a time or all languages at once.
- Store Preview: the product page as it appears on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- Screenshots: Apple’s screenshots per language and device.
- App Review: notes, demo account and contact for the reviewer.
- Submit: the checklist and the submission itself.
App: what belongs to the app as a whole.
- App Information: categories, URLs, copyright, age rating, pricing and availability.
- Subscriptions & IAP: in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- Languages: which App Store languages the app has.
- Builds: uploads and the build attached to the version.
- Settings: your keys and your plan.
The toolbar holds Sync (⌘R), which reads the latest state from App Store Connect, Translate, Push (⇧⌘P) and a status pill. ⌥I shows or hides the inspector, with context for the current screen, open blockers and a timeline of what you did in this session.
Saving is not pushing
Most edits are drafts. They are saved on this Mac as you type and go to App Store Connect only when you push, after you have seen every change in a diff. See Drafts and push for exactly which edits wait for a push and which are written at once.
Several apps and platforms
⇧⌘O switches to another app and ⇧⌘[ goes back to the list of all apps. An app that exists on several platforms has a platform filter; iOS, macOS, tvOS and visionOS are supported. On the Free plan, TakeOff covers one app; see Plans and limits.
