Privacy policy
Your keys stay in this Mac's Keychain. Your drafts stay on this Mac. TakeOff has no server, no accounts and no analytics.
What stays on your Mac
Your App Store Connect key (the .p8 private key, its Key ID and Issuer ID) and the API key of each AI provider you add are stored in the macOS login Keychain. They are available on this Mac only and are never synced to iCloud.
Everything else TakeOff keeps is stored in the app’s own container on your Mac: copies of your apps’ metadata and versions, the screenshots it downloaded from App Store Connect, your unsent drafts, and your preferences such as appearance and the AI provider and model you chose. The password of an App Review demo account is never written to disk.
On the Free plan, the number of review submissions sent this year is also kept in the Keychain, so the yearly count survives reinstalling the app.
What leaves your Mac, and where it goes
To Apple. TakeOff talks to the App Store Connect API directly from your Mac, signed with your key, to read your apps and to write the changes you push, the builds and screenshots you upload and the submissions you send. It loads your apps’ icons from Apple’s public App Store lookup, which receives only the app IDs.
To the AI provider you choose. Only when you use an AI action, TakeOff sends a request directly from your Mac to Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI or Google (Gemini), with your own key. A request contains the app’s name and category, the source and target language, the text of the fields being translated or written, your protected terms and any instruction you typed. It never contains images or your App Store Connect key. The provider’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that request.
TakeOff is not in between in either case.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple. To know which plan is active and to restore it, TakeOff uses RevenueCat, which receives the purchase and receipt data together with a random, anonymous identifier. TakeOff has no accounts and sends RevenueCat no name, email address or other personal data. We receive the sales reports Apple gives every developer.
What we do not have
We do not run a server for the app. We have no account system, no copy of your texts or screenshots and no way to read your keys. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking.
