Before you write

Three things let us see what happened without asking you to reproduce it.

  1. 1The exact message TakeOff showed. If it appeared while adding your key, Copy error detail puts the full text on the clipboard.
  2. 2The screen you were on and what you pressed, for example Push on Store Text.
  3. 3Your macOS version, from Apple menu › About This Mac.
Never send your .p8 file or an AI API key. We never need them, and we cannot read the ones on your Mac.

Most asked

Apple rejected this key

The key was most likely revoked in App Store Connect, or it belongs to a different team. Open Users and Access › Integrations and check that the Key ID is still listed as Active. If it is not, generate a new key and add the new .p8 file.

This key does not have the access TakeOff needs

The key is valid, but its role is smaller than the one TakeOff needs to read and write metadata. Generate a new key with the App Manager role. Developer keys cannot edit metadata.

Push finished with problems

Each language is written on its own. A language Apple refused keeps what the App Store showed before, and its card shows Apple's error with Open the field or Skip this language. The other languages are already written.

Translation stops with an AI provider error

Messages about the API key, credit, quota or rate limits come from your provider. Check the key in Settings › Keys and the credit or spending limit in the provider's dashboard. Rate limits, overloads and network errors are retried up to four times on their own.

Pro is not active after buying

Open Settings › Plan and choose Restore purchases. If it says No purchases found, sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought with, then restore again.

Removing or changing the App Store Connect key

Settings › Keys › Remove forgets the key on this Mac only; it stays active at Apple until you revoke it in App Store Connect. Changing the key also clears the app data TakeOff keeps on this Mac.

Moving to a new Mac

Install TakeOff, add the same .p8 file with its Key ID and Issuer ID, and choose Restore purchases in Settings › Plan. Keys are stored for one Mac only, and drafts that were never pushed stay on the old Mac.
