Where TakeOff keeps your keys and drafts, and what leaves your Mac.
TakeOff has no server and no accounts. Everything it keeps is on your Mac.
In the Keychain
Stored for this Mac only and never synced to iCloud:
- Your App Store Connect key: the .p8 private key, Key ID and Issuer ID
- Each AI provider key you add
- On the Free plan, this year’s submission count
In the app’s folder
TakeOff stores the rest in its own container, under ~/Library/Containers/com.boztopuz.shipkit/:
- Copies of your apps’ metadata and versions; two versions per platform are kept
- The screenshots downloaded from App Store Connect
- Your unsent drafts
- Preferences such as appearance and the AI provider and model
Changing the App Store Connect key clears this app data.
What leaves your Mac
- To Apple: the requests you start, signed with your key, and app IDs to load your apps’ icons.
- To your AI provider: only when you use an AI action, the text being translated or written. See Translate with AI.
- To RevenueCat: purchase data with an anonymous ID, so TakeOff knows your plan.
